Starting at 7AM, purchase a map to guide you to over 50 participating residences, businesses and organizations spread throughout town. A Town Wide Tag Sale Map makes bargain hunting a breeze. Maps are sold for $1 at Pomfret Community School (20 Pomfret Street, RTs 169 & 101). Profits from map sales, ads and registrations are donated to a local charitable organization each year.
If you purchase your map at Pomfret Community School, don’t miss the Friends of Pomfret Public Library’s Used Book Sale from 7AM until 12PM, featuring current fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, biographies, and usually a lot of mystery/suspense. Most books are $1 for hardcovers and trade paperbacks, 50 cents for regular paperbacks, plus a $5 Bag Sale from 11AM to noon (excluding individually priced books).
The Pomfret Horse & Trail Association will have a group sale at Meadow Rock Farm
(233 Pomfret Street). Proceeds from the sale will benefit open space preservation in Pomfret and 4-H campers who would like to attend the Abington 4-H Horse Camp.
The 64th Annual Windham County 4-H Tag Sale at the lodge on 326 Taft Pond Rd is a TWO-DAY event. The tag sale has an early bird buy-in from 10:30 – 12:00 for $5.00 per person on Friday May 4th. The event is open to all from 12 to 5PM and continues on Saturday from 9AM to 5PM, rain or shine! Over 3,200 square feet of items inside and much more under the tent means you may have to come both days! There is also an auction of goods and services on both days (preview 5PM, auction 6PM). Many items are donated from local businesses to make bidding at the auction lively and fun. Food is available from Mary’s Kitchen during both auction and tag sale hours.
A site for multiple tag sales hosted at the Pomfret Senior Center will benefit the Pomfret Food Pantry and Veterans Coffee House. Another group location organized by the Pomfret Town Recreation Department will be held at the town recreation field to benefit the Recreation Department and programs.
