About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organized and community-minded Loan Program Coordinator to support the shared work of the Northeastern CT Economic Alliance and the Northeastern CT Chamber of Commerce. This part-time position plays a key role in managing our small business loan programs, engaging with clients, and helping our organizations grow visibility through workshops, social media, and marketing initiatives.

What You’ll Do
Program & Loan Coordination

  • Serve as the first point of contact for loan applicants and clients
  • Guide applicants through the loan process, reviewing business plans, financial reports, and applications
  • Maintain accurate loan files, amortization schedules, and reporting spreadsheets
  • Track loan payments, send reminders, and support clients with payment plans when needed
  • Prepare and present loan application materials to the Business Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Coordinate closings with attorneys, bookkeepers, and applicants
  • Assist with required reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for USDA and other funders

Workshops & Outreach

  • Develop and host workshops and informational sessions on loan programs and business support opportunities
  • Create user-friendly materials (handouts, guides, presentations) to support applicants through the loan process
  • Represent the organizations at local events, partner meetings, and community gatherings

Communications & Marketing

  • Manage and grow the organizations’ social media presence across multiple platforms
  • Create and distribute newsletters, announcements, and updates for members, clients, and community partners
  • Support marketing and outreach for loan programs, chamber events, and regional initiatives
  • Collaborate with staff, partners, and board members to promote programs and opportunities

Administrative Support

  • Answer calls, emails, and in-person inquiries, providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain office files, calendars, and supplies
  • Assist with scheduling, agendas, and minutes for board and committee meetings
  • Support bookkeeping tasks, including preparing deposits, tracking receivables/payables, and coordinating with the bookkeeper for reconciliations and audits

Who You Are

  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with customer service skills
  • Comfortable learning new systems (QuickBooks, excel spreadsheets, loan software, social media platforms)
  • Creative and proactive in developing marketing and outreach strategies
  • Interested in small business development and community growth

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time (approximately 20–25 hours per week)
  • Based in Willimantic, CT, with flexibility for remote work
  • Compensation commensurate with experience
