Willington
Willington is a small rural town in northeastern Connecticut. We are located 20 miles east of Hartford on I-84. Willington is predominantly residential in nature but has a shopping center, a major travel stop, and is only a couple of miles from the UConn main campus.
The Willington Historical Society was established in 1968 when the Conservation Commission convened the first informational meeting. Activities include holding four meetings a year, sponsoring historical research, presenting educational exhibits, acquiring and maintaining, for preservation and research, a collection of records, facts and materials of the past and present relating to the history of the town and its residents and identifying, marking and preserving buildings and locations of historical interest.
