LOCAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS RECEIVE $15,000 FROM THE JEWETT CITY SAVINGS BANK FOUNDATION

JEWETT CITY, CONNECTICUT, January 7, 2025, … The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation announced the granting of $15,000 to two local educational institutions.

Quinebaug Valley Community College Foundation was awarded a $10,000 grant for the Dr. Robert E. Miller Educational Advancement Fund. In addition, the College was the recipient of two $1,000 donations, each honoring the Bank’s former Vice Chairman, Gail Rooke-Norman and former Director, David Panteleakos.

A $3,000 grant was awarded to the St. James School Special Endowment Fund in recognition of Jewett City Savings Bank’s former Chairman, Gary Peloquin.

“We are proud to support the institutions that play a vital role in shaping the future of our community. By investing in education, we help ensure our future leaders have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed,” said Michael Alberts, President of the Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation.

The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation, established by the Bank to strengthen and support the communities it serves, has awarded over $1,370,000 to local organizations since its first grants were awarded in 2004. This past year, the Foundation awarded 83 grants totaling $116,408 to various community-focused organizations.
